Serena Kankash, DMD
Dr. Serena Kankash grew up in a small town called Millville, Massachusetts. She attended Rhode Island College for undergrad in Providence, RI and continued her education to become a dentist at Tufts University in Boston, MA.
Prior to joining the NC Pediatric Dentistry team, Dr. Kankash completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry, followed by a two- year Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry. She also completed a one-year Orthodontic and Craniofacial Preceptorship before practicing full-time.
Dr. Kankash’s goal as a Pediatric Specialist is for her patients to have a positive experience when visiting the dentist. As a child, her dentist made a wonderful impact on her life, so she would like to pass on that positivity on to her patients.
Dr. Kankash also believes it’s very important to have a good relationship with the patient and family with open communication. She states, “My focus is much beyond teeth. I want to emphasize the growth and development of the child.”
During her spare time, Dr. Kankash enjoys creating and working with pottery, which she has been doing for a couple of years now. She finds it relaxing, but also challenging at the same time. She is getting more involved with gardening and horticulture, although she claims she does not have a green thumb. Another hobby of hers is aquascaping, and would love to get a fish tank in the near future. What many people may not know about Dr. Kankash is that she is actually a Captain in the US Army Reserves.
Dr. Kankash is a part of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the College of Diplomats. She is excited to provide a fun and positive dental experience and can’t wait to meet you!
