Dr. Jina K. Yoo Dr. Jina grew up in South Carolina and attended college at Furman University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in East Asian studies. After college, she spent one year teaching English in China and has over a decade of experience traveling to Asia, Latin America, and Africa, providing free dental care to underserved communities.In 2004, she began her dental career and started dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Jina graduated among the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society. Upon graduating from MUSC, Dr. Jina moved to North Carolina to begin her pediatric dental residency training at the UNC School of Dentistry Department of Pediatric Dentistry. During her residency, Dr. Jina received her Master’s degree, Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and Certificate of Global Public Health. Dr. Jina is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist and is adjunct faculty at the UNC School of Dentistry. I'm a parent, just like you! As a mom, Dr. Jina understands the importance of providing education to patients and parents and creating a safe and effective environment for children of all ages. She loves spending time with her sons, Josiah and Hudson, who love to play outside and listen to music! Her husband, Lawrence, is the lead pastor of Waypoint Church in Durham, NC, and they enjoy serving and ministering to the community around them.
