Serena Kankash, DMD

“A Smile is a curve that sets everything straight.” – Phyllis Diller

Dr. Serena Kankash grew up in the small town of Millville, Massachusetts. She attended Rhode Island College in Providence, RI and continued her education to become a dentist at Tufts University in Boston, MA.

Prior to joining the NC Pediatric Dentistry team, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry, followed by a two- year Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry. She also completed a one-year Orthodontic and Craniofacial Preceptorship before practicing full time.

Dr. Kankash’s goal as a pediatric specialist is for her patients to have a positive experience when visiting the dentist. She grew up going to a pediatric dentist, which made a wonderful impact on her life. She too would like to pass on that positivity to her patients. “I think it’s important to have a good relationship with the patient and family with open communication. My focus is much beyond teeth. I want to emphasize the growth and development of the child.”

During her spare time, Dr. Kankash enjoys making pottery, which she finds relaxing and challenging at the same time. She is also working on improving her green thumb. What many people may not know about Dr. Kankash is that she is actually a Captain in the US Army Reserves.

Dr. Kankash is a part of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and College of Diplomats. She is excited to provide a fun and positive dental experience and can’t wait to meet you!
