David E. Thome, DDS, Certified, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, FAAPD
A native of Colorado, Dr. Thome graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2001. After seven years as a successful general dentist in Kansas City, MO, Dr. Thome decided to pursue his true passion for children’s dentistry. He completed his pediatric dental residency at Nova Southeastern University and treated many patients at the renowned Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Thome strives to make every child’s visit an enjoyable experience and to help them and their parents understand the essentials for building good dental health. He understands that a positive experience combines the very best care tailored to patients’ needs with a relationship built on trust and open communication. Dr. Thome believes the experience during a dental visit is just as important as the treatment. He encourages parents to be part of our team during the appointment. Parents are the primary care giver and it is our responsibility to educate and help in the growth and development of children.
Dr. Thome believes in giving back to the profession of dentistry. He hosts training sessions for fellow doctors from across the country on lasers and dentistry. The Fotona Lightwalker duel laser has opened the door for new and better experiences in pediatric dentistry: no anesthetic required for most fillings and the ability to improve sleep and behavior by enhancing the airway. New procedures that make dentistry less invasive and contribute to overall health is the priority of Dr. Thome. In 2019, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) renewed Dr.Thome’s fellowship and membership status, FAAPD. This fellowship honors and recognizes pediatric specialists who go above and beyond in the field of pediatric dentistry and organized dentistry! Dr. Thome also serves as a Diplomate to the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr. Thome loves spending time with his favorite dental assistant Tiggee, the practice’s therapy dog!
